For generations the Saenz de Samaniego family has been growing grapes and making wine in the village of Samaniego. Historically they made the same kind of young, carbonic maceration wine that was always popular with the locals, but this changed when Hubert de Bouard de Laforest of Chateau Angelus saw the family’s vineyards during a visit to Rioja Alavesa. A young rose made from 70% Tempranillo and 30% Garnacha grapes which come from the highest parts of our vineyards, in the district of Samaniego. The result is a special rose that won’t leave you indifferent.
