2018 CARAVAGLIO SALINA BIANCO

Imagine endless sunshine, lavishing sloping hillsides and ancient volcanic shores pounded by surf and misted with sea spray. For proprietor and winemaker Antonio Caravaglio, the tiny island of Salina near Sicily (just off of the toe of the Italian Peninsula) is not only paradise, it’s home. The only item this island lacks is an abundance of fresh water. Grapevines – which require less water than other plants – are a perfect fit and they thrive in the volcanic soils.
